• Setting the image 1:1 Aspect Ration provides a way to display various shaped images in a grid of equal squares. But when I click on an image using the Expand on click option the enlarged image remains cropped into a square. Is there any way to modify this behaviour so the expanded (enlarged) image is the original aspect ratio (uncropped) version rather than the square version?

Or is there a way to use a square version of the image (v1.jpg) and have it expand to another version (v2.jpg) that’s not cropped?

I would be comfortable creating a class or adding additional CSS if that’s what’s needed. I’m a WordPress newbie but have experience with creating web pages using html and CSS.

I’m just trying to do as much as possible using the existing tools in WordPress 6.4.3 and the Twenty Twenty-Four theme without resorting to 3d party plugins.

    Thanks for any help ??
