Can a notification banner show additional verbiage in one state only?

  • Hello,

    We have a client who would like to add a banner that reads one way in 49 of the USA states with additional verbiage for a requirement in 1 other state. Can a plugin read differently in 1 state than it does in others and if so, what do you recommend?

    Sure, but… getting the state from IP address can be tricky; keep in mind that geoip stuff is not 100% effective. You’ll need to use one of the geoip plugins or find some other way to get an address from the user.

    You might want to work out a proof of concept *before* talking to the client… It helps with the need to run screaming later. ??
