Can a plugin prevent Chrome from warning about a downoad?

Hi,
My employer asked me to insert links to files that have our proprietary file extension. When users right-click the file link from our WordPress website to try to download the file, Google Chrome warns that it’s an unknown file type. We can still download the file by opting to keep the file or open the link anyway. I was just wondering if there’s a way I can specify that the files are safe so that Chrome won’t show that warning. Thanks.
