    When a user is blocked because the max. allowed attempts to login in have been exceeded, can they unblock their account by resetting their password using the password link?

    We get far too many unblock requests from students that have been blocked because they attempted to login over 5x within 30 min. with an incorrect pw.

    We would like to show a message pointing out to the students that they can regain access by resetting their pw.

    Hello @eigenwijsheid and thanks for reaching out to us!

    Unfortunately, once they break that rule, they are blocked for the amount of time you have specified in the Wordfence > All Options > Brute Force Protection > Amount of time a user is locked out.

    I always recommend settings similar to this for Brute Force but you might actually want to lessen the time students are blocked to something like 30 minutes.
