• My database is a mess. Multiple copies of WP that go nowhere. Thus, cannot upgrade automatically. In an effort to clean it up once and for all, I went in to Filezilla yesterday and found which of the many wp links actually contain my themes, etc. It was the wp-content directory of 2/28/10, which was under the public directory of 8/19/10. In my infinite wisdom (!), I decided that a rename was in order. So in Filezilla I changed the name of that directory to WordPress. And so began my problems. I’ve futzed a little, renamed it back to wp-content, but still doesn’t go anywhere. I went into Fantastico to do an upgrade and I get an error message directing me to remove WP. When I start that process, I get this message: “The installation in the root directory of midlifebloggers.com and the MySQL database and MySQL used named midlifeb_wrdp1 will be deleted.” Is that something I want to do? Is there anyway all those dead copies of WP can be removed from my database? Do I even want to do that?
