Can admins restrict certain files for a role? Meaning, if an admin uploads a file to the Media library, and wants other admins and “subscribers” to be the ones who only see that file, is this setup possible with this plugin? If so, can you provide a very simple example of how?

    Hello @klewis,

Thank you for reaching out to us!

Yes, that looks possible with our plugin. You can set file access permission under the Settings of our plugin. You can set the permission for roles such as admins and subscribers to be able to view the file.

Unauthorized users will require to enter a password.

    Is that what you require?

    Awaiting your response.

Hello @buildwps – sounds good for us, too. Is it possible with the free version or only with the payed one?

And I do understand it correct, that the link to the file would work for all logged in users with the correct role without any password – but all others would get a dialog to put in a password?

    • It depend on which user role you want to set up. User roles options include:
      • Admin users (by default) (PDA Free version)
      • The file’s author (PDA Free version)
      • Logged-in users (PDA Pro/Paid version)
      • No one (means no person is allowed to access your private files) – (PDA Pro/Paid version)
      • Anyone (means our plugin only blocks search indexing) – (PDA Pro/Paid version)
      • Custom Roles – (PDA Pro/Paid version and PDA AR/PDA Membership extension)

Yes, the file will work for logged-in users (correct file permission) without any password.

All others will be redirected to the 404-not-found page or login page or custom page.
