Can edit visibility settings in "product" posts but not in "pages" posts.

    I’m using WOOcommerce on our WP site, so we have regular “pages” and we also have “product” posts for the products that we sell.

    I’m trying to edit the “visibility” settings on a “page,” but it doesn’t do anything.

    But, I have noticed that I have no problem editing the “visibility” setting on a “product” post.

    Any ideas why the “system” would allow “product” post visibility edits – but not allow them to happen on regular “pages?”

    Incidentally, the “permalinks” seem to be behaving the same way. I can edit the permalink on the “product” posts, but not on the regular “pages.”

    My question isn’t about WooCommerce, I was just explaining my problem.

    My problem is that I can’t edit the permalink or change the visibility setting on “pages” but for some reason I can on “product” pages.

    I don’t think it has anything to do with WooCommerce.

    Then it should not be posted in “Plugins” forum.

    In that case try deactivating all plugins and switching to the default theme to start troubleshooting this.

    Yes it is. I didn’t realize I posted it on two different threads. Was just trying to get an answer and figure out what’s up.

    I’ll close the other one and move this out of the plugin’s forum – duplicate threads are not useful/permitted. Have you gone through the standard troubleshooting steps of:

    Thank you for your help.

    Honestly, I’m not a techie – and someone else designed this site for me.

    They told me there wasn’t any reason why it shouldn’t be working, but I’m searching for a solution on my own with my limited knowledge and abilities.

    He told me not to do any plugin or WP updates because it could cause the site to stop working correctly.

    I guess I’ll just have to go back to him and try to get him to help me figure it out.
