We want to implement an elasticsearch database that we can access through our WordPress site. We want to create a separate db in elasticsearch. It will NOT be used to search the WP MySQL db. I need to figure out what plugin(s) we need that will allow us to create search and search results forms in WordPress that will connect to the elasticsearch db? Is ElasticPress the answer? If not, can anyone recommend a solution? Any help would really be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi. ElasticPress’ main purpose is to serve as a bridge between WordPress content and Elasticsearch. Although it is possible to use it for other purposes if the content you are planning to store in Elasticsearch is completely independent of your posts, terms, comments, etc. you’ll need lots of custom work, and probably only the connection to ES will be really useful.

Unfortunately, without knowing your use case deeply we can’t provide you with any further help. As?we don’t provide support here, please ask any following up questions there. Thanks.

    Hi Felipe,

Thanks for the response. I agree, ElasticPress probably isn’t the best fit. I think what we need is some kind of forms plugin where each field can link to an external Elasticsearch db. The search continues…
