• I have laid out 46 rows in a soccer fixture style, using 10 columns in each row. So that’s about 460 elements on one page (although largely text with 80 small-ish logos).

Now the page hangs forever when I try to edit it. Is it timing out because of the number of rows/columns?

  • 460 elements on one page does seem overkill haha.
However, this also depends on your hosts servers capacity.

And your settings memory max at your host.
Please check in your WordPress dashboard the Elementor tab> System info if there are any warnings about not enough memory.

Thanks LogoLogics – no system info memory warnings. Every other Elementor page works flawlessly but this one, so I can only assume I’ve overloaded it.

But bearing in mind it’s effectively a table with rows and columns and the only imagery are the logos, I’m surprised that page is quite so unworkable.

    Hi,

Well, this reminds me of a site I was working on years ago ( not yet Elementor by the way ) and I had the same thing going on and also lots of elements in it.

As I started removing some elements to test, I noticed the page started to load better.
It was also only that one page, with many elements, the others where just fine.

It was on a basic shared hosting. I noticed when I migrated a copy of this site to a faster server, the page loaded better to good.

Thing is, just like a computer, the processor behind it, will determine how many and how fast you can do lots of tasks at the same time.

A simple i3, no sdd and not a lot of memory, will not be able to do certain tasks, while a powerfull i7 will do it for you in no time.

Ofcourse, there could be something else causing this too, hard to say.
Could you post the Elementor system info here?
    What hosting are you on?
Can you share the url where this is happening?

By the way, have you tried clearing all cache from your own browser yet?
    Or tried another browser?

Sometimes the browser where you are editing in, can have add ons installed that can slow down a resourfull page or lots of cache stored in a browser could also cause these things.
