How we do development at my office, there are hundreds of thousands of images in our WordPress install, so we just leave them on the live site, and locally, if it doesn’t find an image, it just grabs them from the live site (via htaccess). But Fly images names every file differently, so that the images aren’t on the live site either (because they’re named differently). Is it possible to have a universal naming scheme?

Hi @dangoodspeed thanks for your interest in this plugin!

This plugin requires all files to be available locally in order to work. The solution you have of working with remote images is an advanced method – which goes beyond the scope of this plugin.

A cloud-based solution may work better in your case like Jetpack’s Site Accelerator: https://jetpack.com/support/site-accelerator/ instead of this plugin. You get dynamic images and a CDN for free.

I’m closing this topic for now, but please feel free to continue this discussion here!
