Can functionality for your plugin be added to sidebars built through custom functions on page templates or through custom page layouts that are not necessarily ‘widget-ready’ sidebars?

I have a sidebar on my site that is not registered as a widget area, as I removed the default sidebar and replaced it with a custom function to automatically generate links within it in my theme (after not being able to find a suitable plugin for what I wanted to do.)

I would like to make my new sidebar sticky, but I’m not sure if there is a way to do this, since it doesn’t use widgets and I can’t set it to ‘fixed widget’ in the widget editor.

If you custom sidebar widget has a valid id attribute, you can fix it using Custom HTML ID’s list in Apeearance -> Fixed Widget Options
