I’m trying to have a new WP post created when a record is added to a mysql database of mine. I have looked at Zapier but it doesn’t seem to have a custom “action” for wordpress – just create a post.

What if I want e.g. a certain category selected for the post if certain keywords are in a field from the mysql record? Or what if I want some extra post body text added to certain fields like shortcodes? Or what if I want the title to vary based on the field data?

Can I do this sort of thing with Zapier and hookpress combined? i.e. maybe create a draft post and then hookpress gets triggered to do more with the post and publish it (like in your reverse the post example in video).

Do I need Zapier at all for this, and maybe can just use hookpress somehow?

    Pls advise.

    Thanks,
    Peter
