Can I add non-blog test on my page?

    Can I add text to my page other than blog text?
    I want a description of what the page is for, then have blogs and comments under that.

    What I want is an about me section on the main page.

    Sure. Just edit the files in your theme’s directory. To add something to the main page, you’re most likely looking for index.php and you’ll want to add your html above/before The_Loop (assuming you want it towards the top of the page).
