Can I customize which field(s) populate the default Member Directory display?

    I have two classes of member: individual and group (members identify which class they are in via a dropdown menu in the registration form). By default, the Member Directory automatically displays the First and Last Name of the member, which is perfect for the individual class of members.

    However, for the group members, I’d like to display the group name (rather than First/Last Name). Is there a way for me to customize which field(s) display under the profile picture in the Member Directory?

    I don’t mind creating separate directories for each class of member, but I’d like to keep a single registration form, if possible.

    I’m learning about css, php, etc. but am not fluent by any means. If the solution includes custom coding, it would be useful to know

    1. The name of the file that I need to edit
    2. The location of the file that I need to edit
    3. What code I need to add/edit/delete

    Thanks for getting in touch. To answer your question “Is there a way for me to customize which field(s) display under the profile picture in the Member Directory?”, yes this is possible. You just need to edit the directory and select which fields to show in the info section of profile card.

    Hello — thanks for the speedy reply.

    I know how to select which fields appear in the “reveal” section. I want to change the field that populates the display name that appears just above the reveal section. Ideally, I would like to be able to customize the display name based on user role.

    For instance:

    • For an Individual Member, their first and last name would appear as the display name (as far as I can tell, that’s the default)
    • For a Group Member, the group’s name would appear as the display name (instead of first/last name)
