• I have around 20,000 old posts that i need to delete. they are not being indexed so i want to delete them to help with seo. However, i keep getting a time out error when i try and delete 50 at a time. Is there a way in the backend of my site through the cpanel or anywhere else that i can go to the category and delete the posts in it.

and has anyone deleted a lot of posts to help with seo and is it safe. i want the category to stay but all the posts in the category to be removed.

  • There is not any other other way for a non-technical person to delete the posts. You can use the checkbox at the very top of the table at the Posts page in the admin area to select the posts and then select Move to trash from the Bulk actions dropdown.
