I’ve deactivated the AMP plugin, but I’m not sure if AMP for WordPress needs it in some way, like to retain basic stuff from pages…

I don’t want to delete AMP for WordPress, I am wondering if I can delete the AMP plugin that used to be needed in order to run AMP for WordPress…

I think I read a thing that said to keep it disabled…

    Hello @considerthis1

AMPforWP Plugin doesn’t depend on another plugin to run, you can delete it or disable it whatever you want.

If you have any question let me know.

    ??

I swear AMP for WP previously depended on that other AMP plugin. I tried to find out when that dependency stopped but wasn’t able to.

Yes, you’re right. Early on and for years the AMP plugin was necessary for AMP for WordPress to work.

I think the dependency stopped in the last year. I remember a thing saying NOT to activate AMP, or to deactivate it… I forget.

I wasn’t sure if that also meant we could delete the AMP plugin. Sometimes when a plugin is deactivated things in it still exist in a useful way in the database (or something) so deleting the plugin can create problems.

Apparently AMP for WordPress has completely removed the need for the AMP plugin. I deleted it and nothing bad happened. ??
