Can I do Javascript in the background?

I need to make quite a large form and do all kinds of javascript in the background when people fill out certain things and pick specific options. Can I use this to setup the generic form and then hand code the javascript behind the scenes? Can I even use Javascript on a specific page within my site? hmm.
