On the websites I now use the AAWP plugin with boxes.

Can I insert those in Tablepress, so I can get a good grid with 2 or 3 columns, instead of placing the one under the other?

I used to insert the Amazon Partner stripe photo links but that option has been taken away recently.

    Hi!

Thanks for your post and sorry for the trouble!

If these AAWP boxes are added e.g. via a Shortcode, this should work, in principle. TablePress does not restrict what kind of content you put into the tables.

However, I’m not sure that this really is a good idea: On the web, tables should really only be used to present tabular data, and not for layout purposes (like achieving a columns or grid layout). For that, tables lead to wrong semantics, which is bad for accessibility and things like that.

It might therefore be more reasonable to use other HTML elements for that. If you use the WordPress block editor, you could e.g. use the “Columns” block.

Thank you for your quick response.

The layout looks awful with 2 columns, too wide, and I am too amateur to limit it.
But as you say, the purpose of Tablepress is not for this.

I am using the Classic Editor still, never had the time to learn the new – not new anymore – layout with blocks.

Will take the big table with 100ish affiliate articles off the web for now.

    Hi,

yes, I understand that all this with the new editor looks intimidating at first — but it will be worth it ??

    Best wishes,
    Tobias
