• I have a blog that has writers contributing to it, and I can update 10-20 times a day with new articles.

Whenever I add a new post the “ping” is automatically checked. SO I just realized that Im sending out a ping 10-20 times a day.

Can I get blacklisted by the pinging service for this?
It wasn’t intentional, but Id like to keep updating often if I can, but still get the benefits of the pings.

    thanks

  • I doubt they will blacklist you just for 20 pings a day. Hell I doubt they will blacklist you for 100 pings a day. Not that many really. ??

Now if you pinged every five mins, that’s another story. So I’d say your fine buddy!

thanks, how can I tell if Im blacklisted?

What happens is Ill update with a new article every 5 minutes, but say 10 times.

Then 12 hours later Ill do another 10 articles in a row.

    Yeah that is fine.

Your know if you are banned if you try it manually:

    https://pingomatic.com/

That’s the service that WP uses for pings by default now.
