Can i get selected option back on paypal generated button

I’d like to use a button generated in paypal, as shown in the knowledge base here: www.ads-software.com/plugins/s2member/
The reason is that we have a number of membership levels for different prices, but all have the same membership privileges, so we’d like to just use 1 membership level on the site, but allow people to select the price they want to pay when using the paypal button. We feel that using a dropdown menu and 1 button is a much better user experience than using multiple buttons.
That said, we want to know which membership level the user selects and keep that information in a field in our database. Is it possible to have the option that the user chooses for the button dropdown populate a custom field for that user in our database?
