So I’m currently running a Divi template on my site.

I want to explore a few more different styles etc

so what i’d like to do is have a page/site thats not live but i can experiment with without having to take my current website offline

i want to see other themes away from divi

is this a case of just making a html page – not linking it anywhere and experimenting or is there something else to it?

    Hello @imran69,

Hope you’re doing good. You can definitely use some migration tool and make a copy of your website and test it in your localhost and when you’re satisfied with your changes then you can migrate it back to the original website.

The tools you might need is a WordPress installation in your localhost running on xampp/mampp/wampp and a WordPress migration plugin. I’m sharing some links to the plugins that I’ve personally used and would recommend you to use them. These tools would make the migration easy and quick and also it will take care of changing the links by themselves.

Please Note: If You’re making changes to the Divi Theme itself then you might have to contact their support team because your subscription might not have multiple use of the same license by them.

You can use the Live Preview option available for every theme you have installed on the Appearance > Themes admin screen. This preview will not affect what other users see. If the customizer’s appearance is bothersome in the preview, it can be hidden with the link at the bottom left of the screen. You can navigate to any part of your site while in preview mode.

Additionally, you could compose experimental page content (but not when in theme preview mode) and publish it as a private page so it’s only visible to you and other admins. It too will be accessible while using the theme preview.
