• I am having an issue with my posts not showing up…only my most recent one is displayed with no way to see the previous ones. The archives work, but I can only view September and August. Nothing in October is able to be viewed except the most recent one. I have about 8 posts in October and I do have it set to show the last 30 so I can’t figure out what the problem is. I have tried different styles also so I know it’s not that.

Anyway…in trying to circumvent the problem (since I can’t solve it) I started a new, test blog (I use WP through Yahoo Small Business so I have access to all my files and folders) and it is showing each post like it’s supposed to. Can I (maybe using ftp to copy files?) put my posts into the new blog and have them show up? I tried to find a folder that has the ‘post’ files in them but can’t. The folders in the blog directory are: INCLUDES ADMIN and CONTENT. And then, of course, there are all the php files not in those folders.

Where would I find the text and images that go with my posts to be able to either copy to my new blog directory or export?

Thanks in advance for any advice,
    Pam

  • 1. Every content (except your uploaded pictures) are stored in the database, not in files.
    2. The images should be in wp-content/uploads/ and its subdirs…

Don’t you have an Export tab under Manage?

(just a note: resize your images before upload: having many, many pictures over 100 KB on the same page will not help your blog…)

Nope…I do not see any type of export option. There is an import tab, but no export. I originally started my blog on typepad and was able to export the posts to a file and then import them into WP so I am somewhat familiar with what I’m looking for…that’s why I don’t understand why I can’t figure it out.
    Here’s what I see: https://stepkaphoto.com/screenshot.jpg

    I guess I’m SOL.

    ??

Another way is to export the database – if you have access to it, e.g. via phpmyadmin.

(although with the big Y! everything is always messed up…)

Or, try to upgrade that old blog and you will have the Export option.

I have been posting in WP in October and those are the posts I want…I don’t really care about the Sept and Aug ones (which are on the old blog).

This is such a PITA. I wish I could just figure out why THIS blog does not show my previous posts for October!

    sigh…

    thanks anyway.
