• Probably one of those ‘duh’ questions…
I’ve just got set up to host my own site and I’d like to transfer my old posts from wordpress.com. Is it possible?

  • You just need to login into your wp.com blog and go to Manage > Export… then login into your hosted WP and see the Import ??

Maybe I am not understanding this, but I logged in to my wp.com blog (table4five.wordpress.com) and went to manage>Export. Then I logged in to my hosted WP (table4five.net, hosted by BlueHost) and clicked Import. There is no option there to import from wordpress. Do I have to get an RSS feed for each individual post and upload those? I’ve been banging my head trying to figure this out for DAYS. Please, can someone help?

Here’s the plugin you want. I’ve linked it about 6 times in the last week. Your search-fu is weak, grasshopper! ??

Read carefully, all you really need is the “wordpress.php” file uploaded to your hosted blog (in the right place) to use the fancy new WP xml format.

search-fu-ha! Thanks, Handy. Might I suggest your plugin be made into a sticky and placed right at the top of the forum? Obviously I’m not the only one who needs the help!
