Can I install new WordPress on my laptop?

i want to start a new website can i use WordPress for both website from 1 laptop because i have just one laptop for my personal use, and i already have one website.

The number of devices is not the requirement to run websites. You can control as many websites as you want from one device.

The requirement is your hosting plan.

I request you to please check if your hosting provider allows you to create more than one website or not in your purchased hosting plan. If they allow you to create more than one website then you can definitely create another WordPress website with no extra charges (excluding the domain name charges).

If you are having difficulty in finding the details, you can always contact your hosting provider and they will help you out.

You can install WordPress on your laptop to do local development. Here are a couple of options.

1. My fave is Local by Flywheel. It supports Windows and Mac. It’s super easy to use. https://localwp.com/

These two are more complicated.

2. XAMPP supports Windows, Mac, and Linux. https://make.www.ads-software.com/core/handbook/tutorials/installing-a-local-server/xampp/

3. MAMP supports Mac. https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Installing_WordPress_Locally_on_Your_Mac_With_MAMP

Again, these are for creating a local WordPress development environment on your computer. Not for hosting for the web.

You just need to change the directory and database name of the new WordPress site to be created and that will do the job for you.
