• I have two domains: domain1.com and domain2.com. domain1.com is the domain of the main site.

    Can I map the domains as follows?
    blog1.domain1.com -> mapped to -> domain2.com (this works)
    blog2.domain1.com -> map to -> blog2.domain2.com (tried, but couldn’t get to work)

    Any specific instructions? I am using HostGator with cPanel and I have added a subdomain that points to my /public_html

    Map blog2.domain1.com to domain2.com.

    That’s not what I want to do.
    I want to access the site at https://blog2.domain2.com, not https://domain2.com

    Sorry, confused the 1s and 2s. Yes, you can do that mapping. You do have to create DNS records, etc. for the blog2.domain2.com.

    Ron, can you describe the DNS setup for this? This is exactly what I am trying to do right now too.

    I created an A Name record for “test.domain2.org” and then added that in the domain mapping field for “blog2.domain1.org”. I am seeing the default web page my webhost (Site5) displays when stuff isn’t configured correctly.

    The support staff says they are not clear on what the issue is. It should be working. Any ideas?

    If you’re on Site5 & have cPanel then you need to park blog2.domain1.org onto your WP install.
