You can set password protection per product in the ‘publish’ box.

    Then hide with:

I don’t want them to be hidden.

I want to password protect every product inside a collection, saving me time having to password protect every product which takes a lot of time:(

That won’t prevent direct access will it…

You must be new, I need someone more experienced to answer me.

Hi yeremyah, you could edit the WooCommerce template files to by default hide Products and show a password prompt to view certain product collections. This is not out-of-the box functionality and you will need to use the above suggested Plugin to extend WordPress and WooCommerce and/or contact a WooCommerce developer.

(@mikejolley, get that reply above printed on a t-shirt)

    Yup that ^

I was pointing out that even if you password protect a category page, people and search bots etc could still find the direct product link and access it.

You need a more robust system, in fact, it would probably be better to do a membership like system where users login to see products so it cannot be worked around, and passwords cannot be shared.

So yes, if you need a custom solution, try jobs.wordpress.net

    I understand, thanks everyone.

I am going to password protect all products one by one, that need a password to buy.

Every other product can be seen and bought by anyone.

    Ditto yup that.

We’re just getting started. We’re going to be selling exclusive items to respective small groups of exclusive customers. Ideally for us, we’d like to be able to hide all products from all visitors to the “store” and make it so that each pre-contacted customer (or small group of customers) would enter a pre-provided product code (and maybe password) in a box to show the product and place an order for same.

Glad to have found this thread.

    “Description

“With this plugin you can exclude any page, post or whatever from the WordPress search results by checking off the corresponding checkbox on post/page edit page.
    Supports quick and bulk edit.”

Though what we’ve found is that when dealing with products on their respective “Edit product” pages, if we check the box “Hide from search engines,” the box becomes unchecked again after we click the Update button.
