Can i post categories in queries?

  • Hi,
    I have

    <?php query_posts('post_type=page'); ?>

    that makes my pages (instead of latest posts) display really nice on my frontpage (theme is spun) but i would like to display categories instead of pages – is that possible? Searched for 48 hours, so I thought it was time to ask for help. So, (how) can i change “page” for “categories”?
