Hello there. I am looking for a good plugin that will help me get my issues straightened out on my LinkedIn profile. I have to get it cleaned up and I am tired of waiting for LinkedIn to offer me a better solution.

    https://www.linkedin.com/in/lauralanoue/

I want to have the option to post my projects with thumbnails of MY choice and links to the individual websites. Right now my profile looks unprofessional because I am not able to choose which images are posted to my LinkedIn Profile Intro. Only one of my projects posted there has a professional looking thumbnail posted. There are 3 others that have images for thumbnails, but they are NOT the images of MY choice. Then there is one that is showing NO thumbnail image at all. I want to clean all this up and make it look professional. If I install this plugin on my portfolio site… Will it help me resolve this issue please?

Also, is this plugin compatible with the new release of WordPress, version 4.9.4 please? The plugin’s www.ads-software.com profile says “Compatible up to: 4.8.5” … Is it not up to date with the latest version of WordPress?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @auralanoue,

The plugin is compatible with the latest version of WordPress, I just haven’t updated this part of the plugin profile.

It’s hard to say exactly whether the plugin will work for you, but why don’t you just try it out and see? On the plugin profile it details how the plugin works: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-linkedin-auto-publish/

But the plugin works with custom post types. There are 2 share methods defined in the settings. A simple share method which typically gets the first image on your post, page or custom post type (this is chosen by LinkedIn), and an advanced sharing method which gets your post or custom posts featured image and shares this to LinkedIn.

I recommend testing out both share options to see if one works for you. If not you should setup a featured image for your post and set to advanced. Thanks,

Hi again… I have followed the YouTube tutorial. But, it appears that I am stuck on the part where I choose either ‘Profile’ or ‘Company.’ I tried and retried, but my application name ‘Laura Lanoue Designs’ never comes up as an options. However, I am seeing an option to select one of my client’s application names, Limos by Mr. J’s… But, not my own.

It is on my personal portfolio site that I am trying to use this plugin… So, it doesn’t really matter to me if it is listed as a ‘Profile’ or a ‘Company.’ I just want to get the plugin working so I can update my LinkedIn profile automatically please. If I can get it to post a thumbnail image with a link to my client’s site. I will be happy to make a donation. Any help is much appreciated. Thank you.

It’s important that when you create the LinkedIn application that you are currently logged into the account that is affiliated with whatever profile or company you want to share to: https://youtu.be/Te2iKQoNz2w?t=10s

If you are logged in under a LinkedIn account which has access to companies X and Y and profile Z and you create the application, only these companies and profiles will be able to be shared with. So if you have multiple accounts, log out, log into the application affiliated with your profile or company page and create the application again.

On the profile or company tab in the plugin settings, the profiles and companies that are tied to your LinkedIn account will show up here. The name of your application won’t show here, the name of the profiles and companies will show here. Note, only personal profiles and companies can be shared to, you can’t share to LinkedIn groups. Thanks,
