    Hi all,

I have a site where I want to have a “news” blog and also a second blog. The category of this is not news (instead books), but since this is also a frequent update, I liked this to have the same function, but as a separate blog nestled in the same site.
(this blog also needs its own categories and archives, so I don’t want to include it in the “news” blog as one of its categories….)

    Do you have any recommendations?

    thanks!!

  • I would just use parent and child categories and a custom menu.

    Example:

    Parent Category: News
    Child Category of News: Art
    Child Category of News: Local
    Child Category of News: Travel

    Parent Category: Books
Child Category of Books: Hard Cover
    Child Category of Books: Rare
Child Category of Books: Best Seller

    Assign categories to posts accordingly.

    Menu:

Just make News and Books Categories as main menu items and drag & indent the child categories under those accordingly.

    Hmm I see.
Am I able to separate the blogs by separate images and colors?
Like different banner image, background color, and for news and books categories?

I have a layout for each different pages – so wanted to continue with that in the news and books categories too. If somehow, this is doable, then, I will need to try this!

    Thank you for your suggestion!

All can be done with conditional tags and applying CSS for each.

Layout is achieved with page templates and CSS.
