  • At the moment, there’s no way to do that out-of-the-box with the free version of Events Manager. The Pro version includes a Coupons Manager and you could use that to create and manage the gift certificates.

The selling part could be done with a simple PayPal button or using another ecommerce plugin.

    Thanks for your reply!

I did purchase the Pro license and have experimented with its Coupon Manager. Although it doesn’t support exactly what I’m looking for, here’s what I’m thinking:

    1. Person goes to a page to purchase a gift certificate worth $xxx, let’s say $50.
    2. I’m notified of their purchase details through PayPal.
    3. I then add a single-use (Total Coupons = 1) ‘coupon’ to Events Mgr Pro and give it a unique number that can’t be guessed! Let’s say: 0514-472630-98674 … which is worth $50. (Maybe use the PayPal Transaction ID)
    4. The person can then apply this unique code to their next purchase.

It’s a bit of manual labor, but I think it could work.

That should work fine. Using the PayPal Transaction ID as part of the coupon code should make it easier to admin it if you need to.
