Hey guys. Sorry, total newbie here.

I’m attempting to fix my friend’s site, mainly update some out-of-date Woocommerce templates.

I’m completely new to WordPress – however, from what I’ve gathered, the only way I can update these templates is to have her WordPress installed on my Mac. (I referred to these two tutorials: https://docs.woothemes.com/document/fix-outdated-templates-woocommerce/ & https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=heJM6LvEtZk)

She didn’t create her website herself – the files and the database is with someone she isn’t able to contact at the moment.

I’ve downloaded her files with Duplicator, but wasn’t sure if it would allow me to actually edit her site. I met a few hurdles there as well, but I first of all want to see if it is at all possible to update the templates with Duplicator.

Any help would be hugely appreciated!

  • No you can’t update woocommerce template without installing the wordpress on your mac. You can try installing lamp on your mac to edit the theme on your laptop. I can help you installing lamp on your mac if you are interested to do so.
