Hi guys can i use a different sender domain in a different website domain using amazon ses?

for example the sender domain would be [email protected] and will be sending notifications using that sender address from the websitr black.com domain.

its that possible without any issue while using wp smtp?

    Hi @harvis,

    Thanks for reaching out!

There’s no connection between your website domain (Eg: black.com) and the sending domain (the domain of your “from email address”. Eg: hello@white.com). This is a common misconception.

The purpose of the WP Mail SMTP plugin is to authenticate your domain name to send your WordPress email notifications. Once you authenticate your domain by adding the Amazon SES DNS records, you can send emails using that domain name ([email protected]).

    I hope that’s clear. Thanks!

what i mean it a bad practice? Or it doesnt matter if its authenticated? It doesnt matter the website has a different domain thant the sender domain?

    Hi @harvis,

To clarify what I mentioned earlier, as long as you have properly authenticated your email account, you are able to use your preferred email address for delivering website email notifications, even if it is different from your website’s domain.

There isn’t a hard and fast rule dictating whether you should use the same email as your website, or a different one, for sending emails. Ultimately, it’s a matter of personal preference.

    I hope this helps. Thanks!
