I use Classic Editor, rather than Block Editor. In my web pages in which I inserted a table from TablePress, the tables look fine but the W3C Markup Validator gives this error, ”no p element in scope but a p end tag seen”, that is, I get an extra </p>. When I removed the tables these errors were no longer shown.

The instructions for creating a table include, “To insert a table…..paste it (the shortcode) into a shortcode block at the desired place in the block editor”

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

Yes, using TablePress with the Classic Editor is no problem.
You would simply add the Shortcode to the text in the Classic Editor. Please try adding it on an empty line, so that it stands by itself. That should prevent these HTML validation errors.

I found that I can use TablePress with the Classic Editor without getting error messages from W3C Markup Validator only if I put an empty line above and below, where ever I enter the shortcode.

    Hi,

ah, nice find! Yes, my guess is that this is necessary to not throw WordPress’ HTML parsing off. Good to hear that it works now!

    Best wishes,
    Tobias
