  • I would also like to know this information. It seems like there is some conflict when trying to use GTM and this plugin. Is there a way to prevent the plugin from adding the tracking code within every page of the site but still display the analytics information in the dashboard?

    Hi,

Of course you can, just disable the tracking component Tracking Code -> Tracking Options -> Disabled.

For details check the tracking code documentation.

Thanks Alin, that makes life easier! GTM likes to be there by itself.

    Hello Alin,

After disabling tracking options as you suggested, I am no longer receiving analytics information on the dashboard. When viewing my analytics information from analytics.google.com I am seeing normal traffic so I know my Universal Analytics Tag is being fired properly by Google Tag manager. However, the plugin is no longer pulling that information to the dashboard widget since I have disabled tracking options a week ago.

Is there any way to fix this?

Do you have an error in the widget or is just the widget header displayed without any contents?

The widget is displayed, it’s just no longer registering any pageviews ( see picture 1 , where the widget registered 0 users on dec 6) – it looks like it stopped registering any activity the day I turned this off.

However, when I am viewing the analytics in the actual google analytics dashboard there is plenty of traffic ( see picture 2 – where google records over 200 users in the same day )

I have already double checked that the Universal Analytics tracking code is the same.

    Hi,

You may have multiple Views for the same Property and the wrong one is selected. Make sure that the right View is selected under General Settings -> Select View.

There are no other views for the property, the dropdown isn’t active.

You should check that in your Google Analytics account, and in case there are more than one, clearing the authorization and authorizing the plugin again will force a View list refresh and you’ll be able to select the right one.

    Hey Alin,

Thanks so much for your help and quick responses. I think clearing the authorization and re authorizing the plugin did the trick.

    Thanks again

Works for me so far, turned off tracking as suggested. Thanks for the plugin, great stuff!

Hopefully in 5.0 you’ll also get an option to switch to Tag Manager tracking and after entering the Container ID the plugin will automatically insert the Tag Manager code for you. Would such a feature help?

I think that feature would be especially helpful for non technical people who want to use adwords conversion tracking without having to manipulate code.
