can i use simple and wildcard redirects together hierarchically

Hi,

i have a website with a few thousand pages, of which maybe 250 are important.

I am migrating to wordpress and page names and navigation structures are changing which makes it hard for me to use the wildcards redirection.

what i want to know is, can i set up 250 simple redirects and then have 1 final wildcard redirect to mop up remaining pages and redirect them to my new site structure.

e.g
Request: /old-page1/ > Destination: /new-page1/
……
Request: /old-page250/ > Destination: /new-page250/

and then

Request: /old-site/*
Destination: /new-site/*

Would that work or would the wildcard redirects override the simple redirects?

any advice would be greatly appreciated
