    Hi all,

I need a way to save payment info in Stripe as a way of collateral in case customers don’t pay the reminders after the paid their deposit. Obviously with legal disclaimers and consents we could charge after like Car Rentals do for example.

    Is this flow supported somehow?

    Thanks!

    Hi @thedrap,

We don’t have this feature in Stripe or PayPal. PayPal has a feature called Authorize, which allows you to take no money up front and bill at a later date, but it sounds like you want to collect money upfront and charge later if necessary.

There is a solution if you don’t mind charging customers manually. You can go to: https://dashboard.stripe.com/payments/new and charge any previous customers a one off payment. I think that would be what you need.

Hope that helps. If not, feel free to reply.

Thanks Scott! That solution could work, the challenge is if the payment info gets saved. On my checkout page we have that logic but if not then you can’t re-charge a customer. That’s why we were thinking in having a form to collect the credit card info in case they don’t pay their terms and it’s necessary to charge the CC.

    Hi @thedrap,

Unfortunately, I’m not sure of an alternative way to handle that. Sorry I couldn’t help with this more.

    Thanks,
    Scott
