Can i use the elementor posts widget for ‘related articles’ ?

I am writing a blog and want to have ‘related articles’ (my other blog posts) at the bottom of each blog post.

I have used the elementor posts widget and assigned the relevant category in ‘Query’, however, the feed also pulls through the blog post that the ‘related articles’ widget is on. Is there a way to stop the feed pulling through the current blog post too, so it only shows additional options?

I did try adding the ‘contextual related posts’ plugin, but i found it very difficult to amend the design to look how i wanted it to look, with large images. If i can’t make the elementors post widget to work as I’d like, is there an alternative plugin that is free and easy to amend the design (without using code)?
