I have an e-commerce shopping cart where I sell my services of customizing and installing CMS (content management systems) like WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, etc.. Is it legal for me to use the logos of WordPress and other cms out there to represent what cms I am installing or modifying for the customer? I am only selling my time for the web design and nothing more. Please inform me of my rights on this issue since I am NOT legal smart!

    Thanks in advance!

Further details – An example of what I mean when I say “use” the logos is: I would like to use the logos for particular cms in the product images or as the main product image with a product title stating “WordPress Installation” or “WordPress Customization”. It states clearly that I am NOT selling the website software only my time in installing it and I even give links to the cms websites if they want to check it out. I have my website setup if someone wants the link to visibly see what I am talking about. Just request it.

    Any help would be great!

Thank you Ipstenu! I read it over and feel a little better since the use of the logo(s) is only used to describe what cms I will work with for them.

I still don’t feel satisfied until someone actually looks at an example of what I’m doing. Here is an example of a product thumb: https://store.thegravityblog.com/image/example.png

And here is an example of the product listing:

Or just go to the web address and check out the real thing. I think I’m being overly paranoid about this, but hopefully if I get more answers, I will feel better.

Any other opinions or answers for me?

If you want someone who is a trademark specialist to look at it, you’ll need to submit the contact form at the WordPress foundation link I gave you ?? I’m not a lawyer, just a half-elf.

I sent them a detailed message about this issue. I’m just waiting for a reply. If or when I get a reply, I will post it here to help anyone else who may have this same question!

Thank you Ipstenu for your help!
