Can Kirki based themes be approved on www.ads-software.com

  • Hello,

    I have come to start using kirki because WordPress doesnt allow Theme Options based themes. Since Kirki is not reinventing the wheel but just extending WordPress Customizer api, it makes me feel that it a kirki based theme should be approved by theme reviewers.

    Can someone please confirm if its okay to use Kirki in such situation?

    Also is there any theme which is based on kirki and was approved in www.ads-software.com?

    Yes, it’s ok to use Kirki in a theme on www.ads-software.com.
    There are already dozens of themes using it…
    However, please read the implementation instructions on https://kirki.org/docs/advanced/integration.html first, and avoid including Kirki in your own theme. Instead you can recommend its installation as a plugin.

    If you want to start your theme using underscores as a base then you can simply start by cloning this repository: https://github.com/aristath/_s or if you’re starting from scratch you can read implementation instructions and download any extra files you may need from https://github.com/aristath/kirki-helpers

    Happy to know that Kirki is allowed for WPORG themes. I will certainly take care of the instructions you gave.

    While I was reading the documentation, I wish there was a drag&drop GUI tool from which I could choose fields, panels and sections and just change the variables and it could generate my code. Something like generatewp.com. Guess it wont be too difficult to create such tool.

    Let me know if you have plans to create something like that, I’d love to contribute ??
