    Hi,

I’m working on a project with a lot of different resource pages, so I am hoping to find a plugin that will allow us to:

    1) add links once on the back end and have the link show up in each list they’re categorized into and
    2) give front end users the ability to filter a huge page of links down to ones that are relevant to them.

For example, if someone is looking for Covid resources that apply to a particular region, they could filter: Covid-19 and Central America. Likewise, the link could be added on the backend and if tagged Covid-19 and Central America, it would show up on the page for both of those things (assuming we have shortcodes set up to display those tags). But this function only works if there is a way to put that link in both Covid-19 AND Central America. (doesn’t matter whether the mechanism is categories, tags, or flibbertigibits).

However, I’ve been unable to find such a plugin because ones that have categories only allow us to place a link into a single category, and most don’t have tags.

Can your plugin do both of these things? Thanks for any assistance.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Link Library does allow you to assign a link to multiple categories or to multiple tags. It is then possible to display links with its family of shortcodes ([link-library], [link-library-cats], etc… The shortcodes have arguments that can let you specify which category to display. All links that are assigned to that category would then be displayed.

So, you could for example have a tag that is Covid and categories that are the different countries. You could then use the [link-library] and [link-library-cats] to display a list of categories and a list of links. That list of categories can be displayed in many ways, like a drop-down list. It is also possible to configure the plugin to display that full list of categories and only display one category at a time.

I think that there would be a way to achieve what you’re looking for with Link Library. Do you have some idea of how you want the information to be presented?

Thank you for getting back to me.

This was all inspired by working on resource pages for their new site based on pages like this one that have so many links they are overwhelming, and where there are a lot of links that would appear on multiple pages.

I am envisioning something like a list of of tags that are also buttons (links) the user could use to narrow an overwhelming list down to a smaller list. I can use Gutenberg to make them pretty. Adding thumbnails or screenshots would just be more clutter. It’s the filtering I need.

I am also thinking of just a regular display of links, but where the client only has to add them once on the backend and they then show up on multiple pages that are coded to display only that category.

Unfortunately I think the team already paid for a different product or I would recommend yours (I posted in their support as well and they asked me to make a pro ticket, which I would understand if this wasn’t a sales question =P). I will definitely be getting yours if the one they chose doesn’t work out.

I assume the other selected product for link management worked out since I did not hear back from you. I will mark this thread as resolved.
