    Hi there,

    Am liking the plugin.

Might be something simple I am missing / misunderstanding however.

The plugin works for “me” (in this case admin and the Dropbox owner).

It does not display for other users – I assume because they aren’t me, or because their “not admin” role doesn’t have the same Role Capabilities. (I’ve tried giving admin rights to another user and they still don’t see the folders)

Can you please clarify? Is this plugin specific for the single Dropbox user who authorised the plugin, or can this be opened up to other users?

Thanks for any help you can provide!

Hi. Thanks for your feedback. It should work for any WordPress user with any role, or even if a user is not logged into your WordPress installation.

Once you, as an admin, have authorised the plugin to connect to your Dropbox account, any WordPress user can view the files/folder under the folder you’ve defined as the root folder for the plugin.

    I’d say check two things:

You’ve set a root folder for the plugin so it knows what folder to share to the blog.
Ensure you have the shortcode [bex_folder] in the public page.

Let me know how that goes. I’ll help you to get it going.

    Thanks Chris.

All sorted now – was no fault of your plugin.

FYI I am able to restrict access/visibility to signed in users with certain permissions via this handy plugin: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/user-specific-content/

    Page code therefore:
    [O_U user_role=”otheruser,administrator”]
    [bex_folder]
    [/O_U]

The two work well together, and they suits my use case for now.

In future I can imagine I’ll need multiple Blighty Explorers / root folders; and via the user plugin I can give different user roles different folders.

    Thanks again for the help!

Great to hear you’ve got it working. Thanks for letting me know.

I’ve also used the User Specific Content plugin to restrict access.

In a future version of my plugin, I’m adding a root folder override and user role integration, so that should hopefully meet your needs.

    Thanks!
