• Hard to explain, but..:

I have an old but still great htlm site with 1000 “loose ” pages. Each on has a Google Anaytics code, in page code.

I just added 6 workpress “sub-sites” to the old html site.

Can I blend in the 6 wordpress subsites so that the Google analytics is all under one roof of the old tracking code? Or do webpress sites have to have their own separate analytics Google.

You could use the same tracking code on all of the sites, there’s nothing that would prevent that.

I know about lot of plug ins for google analytics, but where to you put manually a tracking code?

You’ll place the tracking code manually into the theme template file that corresponds with the location in Google’s instructions. If they said in the head area, then usually the theme’s header.php file. If they said at the end of the body area, then usually the theme’s footer.php file.

Specific locations vary greatly depending on the theme you’re using. Also, if you really don’t want to use a plugin for this, you’ll need to build a child theme: https://developer.www.ads-software.com/themes/advanced-topics/child-themes/ (or else your changes will be lost whenever the theme is updated, which is why we recommend using a plugin instead).
