can new comments bump threads?

I would like new comments to bump threads/posts to the top of the stream. This is something that is default in Buddypress. Do people have it working with P2?
I can’t find a plugin, nor could I find a post about it in this forum?

Does anyone prefer the current functionality– non-bumping?

I suppose the “P2 Recent Comments” widget shows threads that have been comment-bumped.
