This error just started and there have been no changes to the site since the last successful gallery upload that was just 2 days ago. No new plugins, no updates, no changes.

When I now attempt to create a gallery I receive a notification that 0 images were uploaded and the text of the notice says “[object Object]” and only once it said “An unexpected error occured. This is most likely due to a server misconfiguration. Check your PHP error log or ask your hosting provider for assistance.” but I cannot get that message to show again. Currently I just receive”[object Object]” over and over. All of the images have yellow warning symbols or red circles next to them before disappearing.

This error also occurs when trying to import from the media library as well.

I’m very sorry to hear this @ccord. I’d be happy to help you out here. First, let’s check your server settings. Navigate to Gallery > Overview > Site Details. Confirm you have the following WordPress recommended settings in place:

MySQL 5.6 (or 10 would be ideal)
PHP 7 (or at least v5.6)

In our experience, these suggested settings work best for WordPress:
    Memory limit: 250MB or greater
    Upload limit: 60MB or greater
    Post limit: 60MB or greater

If your PHP version needs upgrading, install our latest beta first (PHP made some changes to their code that we have implemented a workaround for until they release their next update): This version of NextGEN Gallery should work on any version of PHP. https://imagely.com/wp-content/staging/nextgen-gallery.2.2.20.zip

If the update settings and our latest version of the plugin does not correct the display error you’re seeing, most issues that come up with plugins not working as expected can be resolved by testing for a possible plugin conflict. Temporarily deactivate all – except NextGEN Gallery, and go check to see if the issue is resolved. If so, one by one reactivate the other plugins until the issue comes back to locate the culprit. Keep me posted on your results. ??

I’m having the same issue with my NextGen install when I try to upload images to galleries.

An unexpected error occured. This is most likely due to a server misconfiguration. Check your PHP error log or ask your hosting provider for assistance.

I’ve contacted my webhost about this and they checked my phplog and came back with this errors and told me I should contact you and ask for help regarding this issue.
