Have been updating my site everyday. Today I try to login as normal via wp-admin but I get a white screen with a single dot in top left corner.
I have read some forums on solving this error. All suggestions have not worked.

I then decided to try a complete new WP install. I downloaded new 3.9.1 files, I set up a new database and user etc, edited the config file as normal. The site opens Ok as a new install with standard theme.

BUT when accessing Wp-Admin and entering the account and password, it again displays a white screen with single dot. So now am getting the same issue on my site and this new install???

    new install = pxpworld.com/worldibk

    any ideas please?

  • After you make the changes, make sure that you clear the cache and “hard” refresh the page in your browser to be able to see the changes right away. Also, don’t forget if you have any caching WordPress plugins installed, or use a CDN (like CloudFlare) to also either clear their cache or disabled them for the time being altogether. If you’re not sure how to “hard” refresh, this site has some great tutorials on how to clear your cache: How to Clear Your Browser’s Cache Instructions.

Also check with your host and make sure that if they use a caching system above your site, that that is being cleared, too. For example: https://support.godaddy.com/help/article/8057/clearing-the-server-cache-using-website-accelerator

Thanks for the reply. I had already been clearing the local cache. But the point about the host cache may have sorted it. I spoke to the host, they said it was not related to them, but after 10 mins chatting with them, my admin access started to work! Strange ??
    thanks
