Can not add categories on categories.php

  • I just did a fresh install of wp on my server php 5.2/apache. I found that I cant create categories in the admin(categories.php). I’m ofcourse logged in as the admin. Ansd have not added any plugins or hacks to the core. The fiunny thing is is that the categories are being added to the db, and reflects on the dashboard. But does not show on categories.php Kinda stumped on this one. I’ve even deleted the blog and did another clean install. I have the same issue

    Check with these options:

    -> Disable all the plugins and enable it one by one to find out the culprit
    -> repair database and its user permissions
    -> remove all unwanted code from htaccess
    -> make sure that there is no tag with same category added in the blog. If so then remove it and have a check.

    I’m having the same exact problem

    Well someone else recommended I activate one of the default themes to see if it would work and it did, so the problem was with my theme. I found the issue. You might try the same!
