Can not add new media to library – HTTP error
-
Greetings,
This is driving me insane, hopefully someone knows how I can fix this! I have not uploaded any new images to my blog since probably ver. 3.9, but at that time everything worked perfectly.
Today I attempted to upload a new image to the Media Library (Media –> Add New –> Select Files)… the bar progresses, but I receive a red “HTTP Error” message. Checking the ‘uploads’ folder via FTP, the image file is there, it has been uploaded, but it does not appear in the media library.
I am using the latest WP (4.1), the default theme, and no other plugins activated.
If I switch to the browser uploader instead, it still doesn’t work but I get a very different error message … this one is not within the WP control panel, it opens on a blank white page:
====================================================
Server error!
The server encountered an internal error and was unable to complete your request.Error message: Premature end of script headers: php52
If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster.
Error 500
Apache/2.2.29
====================================================I am still able to insert older images that are *already* in my Media Library into posts, but I cannot add anything new! I have tried temporarily changing permissions on “wp-content” to 777, modifying the .htaccess, and using a plug-in to force WP to default to GD, all to no avail.
Having to deal with this has really put me in a bind, I never expected to have an issue just posting a few pics. Any help super appreciated!
