Can not add new pictures after update WordPress 5.5

I’ve got the same problem as Gimli.
I am using the Owl Gallery extension.
The problem only prevents me adding new galleries or editing existing ones – previously edited galleries still display as normal on the website.

Deactivating Owl Gallery removes the problem, but then 48 existing galleries are no longer visible on the website!
