    Hello,

    I’ve updated to Worpress 5.5. After the update it is not possible for me to add pictures to a new gallery or add/delete pictures to an existing gallery.

    I’ve deleted HTML- and CSS-Cache in Foo Gallery settings but that doesn’t help.

    If I go to edit gallery you see in the area “Gallery Items” a grey circle where a white point runs around. When push the button “Add From Media Library” nothings happen.
    On existing gallery the same bahaviour. You see that there are pics but the thumbnails are not loaded. Also buttons “Add Media” and “Remove All Media” don’t work.

    Here some information about used version:

    FooGallery version : 1.9.31
    WordPress version : 5.5
    Activated Theme : Twenty Sixteen
    PHP version : 7.2.30

    Hope you can help.

    Regards,
    Stefan

    Hi @gimliontour

    Others have reported issues if they are using the Owl Carousel extension for FooGallery.

    Are you using that extension? If so then please deactivate it and use the other gallery templates built into the core FooGallery plugin.

    If you are not using that plugin, then please open Chrome Dev Tools and look at the console to see what JavaScript error is showing, and paste that info here please

    Hi @bradvin

    Owl Carousel is not installed on my site.

    Btw. on posts I can see the galleries and the pics.

    The problem is only on editing galleries.

    I got the following errors at the console:

    Thanks for the detail.
    We are going to investigate how the gallery can get into this state.

    What gallery template are you using?

    Hello Bradvin,

    I use the template “Justified Gallery”.

    Hi @gimliontour

    Do you have any other FooGallery extensions running on your site?

    I just dealt with another support query, where the customer had FooVideo running, which caused the same error you are seeing. FooVideo is a really old extension that has been replaced with functionality within FooGallery PRO

    Hi @bradvin

    When I go to the menu ‘FooGallery’ -> ‘Extension’ I see the following extensions activated:

    • FooGallery Albums,
    • FooBox and
    • Nextgen Importer
    • When I select ‘FooGallery’ -> ‘System Info’ I also found the following information:

      Extensions Errors : Nope, all good
      Extensions : Array
      (
          [0] => default_templates
          [1] => albums
          [2] => foobox
          [3] => nextgen
          [4] => foobox-image-lightbox
      )

      Extensions Active : Array
      (
          [0] => default_templates
          [1] => albums
          [2] => nextgen
          [3] => polaroid_template
          [4] => foogallery-owl-carousel-template
          [5] => foobox-image-lightbox
          [6] => foogallery-zoom-template
          [7] => foobox
      )

      Gallery Templates : Array
      (
          [0] => default
          [1] => image-viewer
          [2] => justified
          [3] => masonry
          [4] => simple_portfolio
          [5] => thumbnail
          [6] => polaroid
          [7] => zoom
          [8] => polaroid_promo
          [9] => grid_promo
          [10] => slider_promo
      )

      There I see the [4] => foogallery-owl-carousel-template.
      But how can I deacticate that?

      Best Regards,
      Stefan

    Hi @gimliontour

    Goto your Plugins page and find the Owl Carousel plugin and deactivate it.

    (@gimliontour)

    Hi @bradvin

    unfortunately there is no Owl Carousel plugin listed.

    I’ve only the following plugins:

    • Aksimet Anti-Spam
    • FooBox Image Lightbox
    • FooGallery
    • FooGallery – Polaroid Gallery Template Extension
    • FooGallery – ZOOM!
    • Jetpack
    • Shariff Wrapper
    • Is there another way to deactivate that plugin?

    Plugin Author bradvin

    (@bradvin)

    hi @gimliontour

    I am not sure why it is not listed on your plugins page.

    The only other way to remove the plugin is to rename the folder for the plugin on your server using either FTP or a file explorer in your hosting panel.

    But looking at your list, it could be caused from either:

    * FooGallery – Polaroid Gallery Template Extension
    * FooGallery – ZOOM!

    Please can you deactivate those plugins to see if that resolves the problem.
    Those 2 extensions are really old and no longer maintained.

    (@gimliontour)

    Hi @bradvin

    Yeap, that works. I’ve deactivated both. Now I can edit my galleries.

    Thank you very much for your support.

    Kind regards,
    Stefan

    Hello, the exact same thing keeps happening to me, and I don’t have any plugin, it’s the free version, just the foogallery, nothing else.

    Same problem for me. I have just installed the 7 day trial of premium.

    I don’t have owl carousel installed.

    I have deactivated premium and gone back to the free version and all works as it should.

    Can you help Brad?

    Thanks

    hi @stephencphotog

    If you cannot add images to a gallery, then this usually means there is a javascript error on the FooGallery edit page. This is caused by a conflict with another plugin, which has an error and that error in that plugin stops FooGallery from loading correctly.

    Check your DevTools console to see what javascript errors are showing up on your site.

    That was a quick response. Thanks Brad. I appreciate that good service.

    While you were typing I was setting the Custom Ready Event as you describe in the pinned post. It looks to be working now. If not I will start a new post with further details.

    Thank you

    Stephen
