Can not add new user

  • Hello,

    I am trying to add an administrator to my upcoming WordPress set. It is still being made on my localhost and when I try to add a new user so my partner can also work on it from home – the User form doesn’t send him his password to get in.
    You know how when you are adding a new user in the form at the end it asks if you would like the person to have a copy of the password sent to their email? It isnt sending. I even tried adding a new user with my secondary email and it didnt send either.

    I told him the password and we tried it together but when he logged into the wordpress using the password I gave him, it didnt show him the wordpress site I was working on, it was just a blank wordpress site.

    What can we do to both be connected to the same wordpress site?

  • Let me see if I have this correct. Your creating a site on your local host – i.e. A server on your pc – and it won’t send an email and he can’t login from a remote location.

    Is that right?

    If so did you set up your router to allow external access to your pc?
    Did you set up your server to allow it to send mail?
    Are you using wamp or xamp for the server on your pc?
    Have you tried to access the site when you are at a remote location?

    I am not much familiar with such thing, all the experiences I have is a local cloud storage I have set up for myself, but from my experiences, If your friend can already get to the log in screen of your wordpress site from your local host, I would assume you have done the port forwarding configuration, however base on the information you provided, there isn’t much we can help, maybe if you are willing to let someone have the log in to take a look will be easier to identify the issue.

    @starbuckmi DO NOT give anyone your login information! If you get to the point where the volunteer help on the forum can’t help you, then you should hire someone to help. Find someone local or check out https://jobs.wordpress.net
